IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR SUMMER MEAL PICKUP!
Please disregard the request to use the tennis court parking lot as a turn around. There are multiple construction dumpsters currently in the parking lot.
Please enter the SCHS entrance to drive to SCE Door #20 for meal pickups. Please view the attached infographic for reference.

FREE Summer Meals
Summer 2024 will offer 2 options for FREE summer meals for children 18 years of age and under.
Boys and Girls Club of Harrison County: will provide dine-in only breakfast and lunch meals. Meals will begin June 3 and conclude after service on August 8th. Breakfast will be served between 8-9am and lunch between 11am-12:30pm. The Boys and Girls Club will be closed on July 4th and 5th.
South Central Elementary School: will offer weekly curbside meal pickups. Pickups will occur every Monday at Door #20 from 10:30am-12:30pm, while supplies last. Pickups begin on Monday, May 27th. Each meal bag distributed will include 5 days of breakfast and lunch meals. Children must be present for pickup unless the South Central Elementary Summer Meals Survey is completed. This survey allows parents/guardians to authorize a secondary pickup person and communicate the number of children that live in the household.
Children may only collect meals at one site per week.

For Field Day tomorrow, please send a note if you do not want sunscreen provided to your child if they don't bring a form home. You can also respond to your child's teacher or the school office.
Field Day is being moved to tomorrow, May 21, because of weather on Thursday. We will move our incentive movie trip to Thursday in case of rain.
We have Pastries with Parents coming up this Friday. If you haven't turned in your RSVP, please do so tomorrow so we make sure we have plenty of pastries.
The Book Fair will also be wrapping up that day, so come for the donuts and stay to support our library!!
Our students had a great time at Happy Hollow for 6th grade camp!! Special thanks to Mrs. Edwards, Mrs. McCrary, Officer Lewis and all of our volunteers for making it a great experience!!

SCES was on a lockdown for a short time this morning. There was a concern in the community and not a direct threat to the schools. The individual has been located and all school activities are resuming. Alls students and staff members are safe.
Please remember that there is no school tomorrow, May 7, 2024 for Election Day. . We will be back in session on Wednesday.

Congratulations to the senior class from SCES on their Decision Day! Our 5th and 6th graders got a chance to watch the ceremony and see all of the amazing places the seniors are headed after they finish high school!!
