It's often that one of the underserved populations in school districts are English-language learners; however, thanks to the tremendous work of Dane Carter and Liliana Retama, SHCSC has a thriving ELL program assisting students and their families with college applications, job interviews, class activities and more. 👏🏽 👏🏾 👏🏿 To learn more about the work Dane & Liliana do, click here: https://bit.ly/3sxZWyK

A graphic with cut outs of punctuation marks in the background and a group of students in the foreground. Text on the image reads "Indiana Latino Institute 2023"
It was also great to be able to share our Veterans Day celebration with our local Legion as they presented the flags for our presentation.

This week is Red Ribbon Week. Throughout the week, we will have spirit days, as well as announcements in the gym. We will also have fun competitions between classes, and students will be able to help make a paper chain to pledge to be drug free. I will also visit each classroom to discuss the importance of making safe, healthy choices, and staying drug free! Each student will receive a Red Ribbon Week pencil and sticker as well. Special thank you to the Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition for donating the Red Ribbon Week items!
