
The 5th and 6th-grade girls' basketball teams will play in the first round of the County Tourney tonight at Lanesville. The 5th-grade team will play South Central at 6:00, and the 6th-grade team will play South Central at 7:00. Good luck to both teams!

We would like to support a CIS family who lost everything in a house fire over fall break. On Thursday, students and staff can wear a hat to school if they make a donation (of any amount). Teachers will collect donations on Thursday morning. Thank you for supporting a fellow CIS family!

Boys’ Basketball Tryouts are coming up. 5th Grade Tryouts will be held October 26 th -27th from 6:30-8:00 PM in the CIS Gym. 6th Grade Tryouts will be held October 26 th -27th from 5:00-6:30 PM in the CIS Gym. There is a sign-up sheet in the office. It is very important that all kids have had their physicals before tryouts begin. Kids without physicals will not be allowed to tryout. Tryouts will be closed to parents and other non-student athletes. Also, it is not necessary to buy new basketball shoes before tryouts. After the teams are finalized, we will encourage the kids who made the teams to purchase predominately white shoes. The 5th-grade coach is Justin Crawford and his number is 1-502-599-8526, and the 6th-grade coach is Tommy Wiseman and his number is 812-736-6207.

Robotics Team Members: Unfortunately, we have to cancel our first practice that was scheduled for this Wednesday, October 19. We look forward to starting next Wednesday, October 26.

2 more days to turn in your caps/codes! Our first Coke competition is happening now. Drop your caps/cardboard codes off in the metal Coke can outside of the front doors and be sure to write your teacher’s name on the bag. The class who brings in the most caps in each grade wins a treat party!

The 5th and 6th-grade girls' basketball teams won last night against East Washington. The 5th grade won 21-13 and the 6th grade won 16-11. Way to go girls!

We blew our Book Fair goal out of the water! Thanks to all families for their support! As a reminder, 50% of all Book Fair sales come back to our school in the form of Scholastic Dollars, which allows us to purchase new books and equipment for the library. It was a great week and students are looking forward to checking out what's new in the library soon!
