I am thrilled to share some exciting news with you. We have a new member joining our team at Corydon Intermediate School, and I believe she will make a wonderful impact on our students.
Please join me in welcoming Mrs. Shawna Yeager, our new Dean of Students and Reading Interventionist. Mrs. Yeager comes to us with ten years of experience as a third-grade teacher.
In her new role, Mrs. Yeager will be providing reading interventions for our students. She will also be involved in all things related to students, ensuring that everyone feels safe, supported, and excited about learning.
I am very excited for Mrs. Yeager to join our team, and I know she will bring a lot of positive energy to our school community.

Our 4th grade classes visited Indiana Caverns this week. The trip enhanced their studies of Indiana lanforms, fossils and rock layers, as well as animal adaptations. What a great learning experience!

Due to the weather and rescheduled football game, our Fall Festival will not happen on Saturday. INSTEAD, our PTO will host a carnival for our students next Friday during the school day! Information regarding the silent auction will be shared soon.

Don't forget the CIS Fall Festival is Saturday from 4-7. Each CIS student will get 10 tickets when you check in at the event. There will be a variety of ways you can spend those tickets. There will be crafts, temporary tattoos and games to play! Some of the games will include Skee-ball, a sweet treat walk, and Plinko. Prizes can be won at games including dumping water on CIS staff! Additional tickets may be purchased 5/$1. Hope to see you there!

Thank you to Harrison County EMS for visiting CIS to educate some of our students on the services they provide.

Good afternoon,
The Corydon Campuses were placed on a soft lockdown due to reports of perceived gunshots in the distance behind the high school baseball fields. Recess was immediately moved inside and our academic day was not disrupted. The School Resource Officers conducted an investigation and no apparent threat was observed. As an abundance of caution, the decision has been made to keep students indoors for the remainder of the day.
Thank you,
Mrs. Carter

Mark your calendar! We are looking forward to hosting a Fall Festival at CIS! 🍂🐾🍂
